Funny, but the other day I was planning to fly out of Mexico
Funny, but the other day I was planning to fly out of Mexico. Didn't work out. Turns out, my mythical bank's card won't go through for buying plane tickets. Only housing and small online purchases, like ordering food, taxis, and so on. Guess I'll have to stick around a bit longer.
But no matter, this time I rented a place right near my boxing gym, where I had the pleasure of training a month ago, before I left Playa for a city with a name you can't pronounce—Coatzacoalcos.
Despite Playa being a resort town, Uber taxis don't work here. The logic, right. Even in Coatzacoalcos I took a taxi from the station to the house. Which means grocery delivery from supermarkets doesn't work either—just checked. All this makes things harder, but no big deal—I'm used to it, every day something new... ))
So... where's my beloved Farmacia Guadalajara... Not on Google Maps, but I swear by the gods—I saw it today when I was rolling into town. I'll go look for it. I know for sure it's on the western entrance to the city.
Despite all these little problems, I'm glad to be back in one of my two favorite Mexican cities, where I have acquaintances, where there's a beach, where there's a boxing gym I'll definitely go train at again, if I can somehow manage to pay for the classes online.
I'm not counting on it much, and there are far more pressing matters, like finally getting myself a CURP so I can open an account at a local bank. Gotta see this thing through to a nice finish.
There's only one way to do it—through refugee status.
Late evening. Found a couple of stores with NFC. In Merida I didn't find any, further west either. It's a 7-ELEVEN and another store for healthy food in the city's central mall. All kinds of grains, mung beans, chickpeas, chia, vegan protein, honey, and a bunch of other stuff like that. Looks like it's time to sit on grains for a while, on rice. Lighten the soul from protein-heavy food.
Greetings from sunny Playa,
